Balkan Congress Center – Trakya University
Construction of the Balkan Congress Center began in 2007, and the center became operational in April 2009. Since then, it has been hosting both national and international congresses.
The center consists of three main blocks:
- Congress and Exhibition Palace (Block A)
- Administrative and Seminar Building (Block B)
- Rectorate Center (Block C)
Block A – Congress and Exhibition Palace
Designed as a Congress and Exhibition Palace, Block A covers a total area of 5,135 m². It includes a 766-seat congress hall and a spacious foyer that can also serve for exhibitions and fairs when needed. The entrance hall comprises an information desk, security unit, and ticket offices. Additionally, Block A houses a VIP lounge, a press center equipped with photocopying, fax, scanning, and internet facilities, administrative offices, an archive, restrooms, cloakroom, and a first aid room.
Block B – Administrative and Seminar Building
Block B, circular in design with a diameter of 33 meters, has a total area of 1,725 m². The seminar rooms are arranged as follows: one hall with a 160-seat capacity, two halls with 80 seats each, and four halls with 50 seats each. This block also contains four administrative offices, a cafeteria, a lobby, and restrooms.
Block C – Rectorate Center
Block C is designed in an elliptical form and consists of six floors: a basement, a ground floor, and four upper floors. Covering a total area of 6,125 m², this block houses the administrative offices of the Rectorate, a 28-person guesthouse, a cafeteria, and a restaurant.
Outdoor Facilities
The open area of the Congress Center includes a parking lot with a 200-vehicle capacity and an outdoor exhibition and fairground area of 2,000 m².
