Now once again, with the significant contributions of the governors of our five provinces  -Edirne, Çanakkale, Tekirdağ, Kırklareli Balıkesir-  and The Union of Thrace Universities, we have organized a new fair. President TABAKOĞLU, expressed his graduate to those who participated in the ceremony, especially to Edirne governor Yunus Sezer, as well as to Çanakkale Governor İlhami Aktaş, Kırklareli Governor Birol Ekici, Tekirdağ and Balıkesir governors, deputy governors of the five provinces, presidents of the Union of the Thrace Universities, vice presidents and all those who contributed to the effort.

They (our students) will have opportunities to choose and get to know the jobs they will do in the future thanks to the career fair.

Edirne governor Yunus Sezer: “University students share a common concern, especially 3rd and 4th graders. They’re worried about what to do when they graduate. At the same time, companies don’t have many opportunities to talk with students who haven’t graduated yet, but the career fairs which are carried out by the Presidential Human Resources Office solve both of these problems.” Governor Sezer, who stated that this organization will meet the demands of both parties, also added “We have around 300 companies and 40 thousand students here today. Our students will visit the booths, participate in workshops and get the opportunity to pick and get to know the jobs they will do in the future.” and expressed his gratitude towards all who contributed efforts into making this event come true.

The Presidential Human Resources Office is conducting significant efforts regarding students’ transition into the worklife after their education.

The president of the Presidential Human Resources Office, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Salim Atay, stated that Turkey is a country with strong opportunities and can establish sustainable systems by bringing rational solutions to problems. Atay, who stated that the Presidential Human Resources Office is working hard to assure that students have an easy time transitioning from their education life to worklife, aside from finding solutions to the many problems of public and private sectors, expressed that they’re working towards early career guidance and creating career awareness, and that career fairs are merely one of these activities. Atay emphasized the significance of career centers that focus on what young people will do after graduation. He reminded that they provide all kinds of support for the establishment of career centers in all 207 universities in Turkey. Atay stated, "The Presidency of Human Resources Office has provided the 'Talent Gate' platform to these centers, where students can register. In five years, Talent Gate has become the world's second most effective platform in this field. Students from over 100 countries and from more than 2,500 universities have registered on this system.”

Atay stated that the platform provides job and internship opportunities for students and connects them with companies. Highlighting the successful work of the Human Resources Office since its establishment, Atay continued his speech: "In five years, using scientific methods, we have reached the information that we have made a significant contribution to employment in the 20-24 age group among university students. When we consider it all together, we have data indicating that we facilitated the employment of 169,000 young people. This is something to be proud of for us and for our country. Our country has the highest production capacity in this region. Our young people are idealistic and hardworking; all that was left was to match supply and demand. This year, there has been a 10% decrease in the unemployment rate among young people aged 20-24. We take pride in contributing to the additional employment of 169,000 university students.”

After the speeches, a plaque was presented to the representatives of the institutions and organizations which supported the fair. Following the ribbon-cutting ceremony for the opening, the protocol members toured the booths.
