On the second day of the Trakya Career Fair, the largest event in the region with the widest participation, which took place under the coordination of the Presidency Human Resources Office and was hosted by Trakya University, intense attendance continued. Held on December 27-28, 2023, the fair attracted tens of thousands of young talented students, who got the chance to talk with representatives from both public and private sector organizations at their respective booths to shape their futures. On the second day of the fair, students from Trakya University and universities in the surrounding cities gathered to set up at the Balkan Congress Center and Türkan Sabancı Cultural Center to learn about job and internship opportunities from representatives of organizations.
At the Balkan Congress Center, 298 companies set up booths and interacted with students, while presentations took place in six separate conference halls, providing students with detailed information about various industries.
Süheyla Çebi Karahan, Chairperson of DORÇE Prefabricated & Construction, who was the first to give a speech in the Conference Hall, gave a speech titled 'Career in the Digital Age.' Emphasizing the opening of the Digital Age, Karahan stated that organizations are restructuring their departments according to the requirements of the digital age. Karahan stated: “Technology is developing very rapidly globally, and everything is digitizing very quickly, you need to catch the requirements of this digital age when you're sending a product you made in Turkey to the world. She highlighted the importance of artificial intelligence (AI) and encouraged students to improve their skills and to immerse themselves in this area.
Mustafa İnci, Co-founder of VOLTA Motor, gave information about how Volta Motor emerged and became a brand in his speech. İnci emphasized that they went through a very challenging process for their company to gain brand value, and through their efforts and entrepreneurship, they became influential in this market.
Firuzhan Kanatlı, Chairman of ETİ Company Group, in his speech, narrated the establishment story of ETİ and expressed that ETİ is the fashion designer of the food sector. Kanatlı said their main mission is to make people happy, and he mentioned their extensive R&D department, through which they produce products tailored to needs, creating original products without copying others. Kanatlı also stated that they are renewing themselves in line with the needs of the current digital world by working in an integrated way.
Salih Akgül, Chairman of Salcano Bicycle, in his speech, started by talking about his life story and shared information about his work. Akgül, who created the Salcano brand by struggling with many difficulties, shared his initiatives during this process with the students.
At the Congress Hall, various professionals continued giving speeches, including Elşan Memmedov, Human Resources Specialist at Turkish Airlines, who gave a talk about “Career in the Sky,” Songül Korkmaz, Human Resources Recruitment Specialist at Akbank, and Özlem Pektaş, IT Recruitment Manager at Akbank, who talked about 'Career Opportunities at Akbank.' Öznur Şahin, Director of Edirne Public Prosecutor's Office & Support and Victim Rights, talked about 'My Career in Justice: Becoming a Judge and Prosecutor in Judicial Jurisdiction,' and Mehmet Karadaş, Head of Department at the General Directorate of Health Services of the Ministry of Health, with 'Health Ministry Organization Structure, Service Entry, Personal Rights, and Working Areas.' These presentations and speeches continued to facilitate interactions between students and representatives from various institutions and organizations.
In the other halls of the Balkan Congress Center, students participated in discussions, workshops, and sessions with institutions and organizations related to their career fields. Topics included the 'Economic Taboo Game' by the Ministry of Treasury and Finance, 'International Internship and Career Opportunities' by Work and Study, 'Software-Consultancy-Workshop: Career at COSMOS' by COSMOS Software, and various other career and internship discussions and workshops organized by different companies and institutions.
