The President of Turkish Assembly Prof. Dr. Mustafa Şentop, paid a visit to Trakya University in Edirne to give a lecture in the conference named “Turkey and the World in the beginning of the 3rd millennium years” and attended the public opening ceremony. Prof. Dr. Mustafa Şentop inaugurated the renewed units of Health Research and Implementation Center (Hospital) of Trakya University, the Faculty of Theology, the Faculty of Pharmacy, the Dentistry Application Units and Sherbet House, “Şerbeti Fünun” Project and took part events, which were attended by Edirne Governor Ekrem Canalp, Edirne Deputy Fatma Aksal, Chief Public Prosecutor Fatih Karabacak, Administrative Court Chairman Yasar Erdem, Trakya University Rector. Dr. Erhan Tabakoğlu, Rector of Kırklareli University Dr. Bülent Şengörür, President of Bar Association Av. Prof. Dr. Alper Pınar, Vice Governor Prof. Dr. Yusuf Güler, Provincial Police Director Ali Kemal Kurt, Vice Rector of Trakya University Dr. Prof. Osman Nuri Hatipoğlu and Prof.Dr. Cem Uzun, Trakya University General Secretary Dr. Cevdet Kılıç, Vice General Secretary Ahmet Sezgin and Lecturer Hakan Akıncı, AK Party Provincial Chairman İlyas Akmeşe and deans, managers, provincial protocol, academicians and students.
Before the conference, organized by the Union of Trakya Universities, presided by the Rector of Trakya University, Dr. Prof. Erhan Tabakoğlu, Prof. Dr. Mustafa Şentop inaugurated the exhibition of the Fine Arts Faculty members/artists working in the member universities of the Union. The Rector of Trakya University. Dr. Erhan Tabakoğlu and the Dean of the Faculty of Fine Arts Dr. Melihat Tüzün presented a Tekirdağ Engraving to Prof.Dr. Mustafa Sentop. After the exhibition, the conference started with a moment of silence and the National anthem, followed by the speech by Prof. Dr. Mustafa Sentop, arousing great interest. The rector of Trakya University, Dr. Erhan Tabakoğlu who expressed their gratitude and happiness to welcome Prof.Dr. Mustafa Şentop, The Speaker of Grand National Assembly of Turkey. Trakya University Rector Dr.Erhan Tabakoglu, said that Prof. Dr. Mustafa Sentop is not only a representative of Thrace and Balkans, but also is a person with his vision and mission who serves to the Balkans with heart, and supports Trakya University to be the leading education center in Balkan region.
