According to the research conducted by the University Assessments and Research Laboratory (UniAr) with 4 thousand 785 foreign students from 133 universities, the city of Edirne with Trakya University which has 50 thousand students, has been ranked 2nd in the “Student Friendly University Cities” ranking. ÜniAR' conducts researches on university and higher education about satisfaction of the city, transportation facilities, security, entertainment, sports, the attitude of the public towards students, social, artistic and cultural activities, solution of health problems. Edirne ranked 2nd with 86 points after Antalya with 87 points according to the survey conducted with 4 thousand 785 foreign university students from 133 universities in 96 provinces and 37 foundations in 74 cities. Edirne ranked 4th in the same survey in 2017, and this year with Trakya University and its student-friendly efforts of all local stakeholders of the university has beome the second in ranking.
The Rector of Trakya University Prof. Dr. Erhan Tabakoğlu made a statement, saying “In the research of Student Friendly University Cities prepared by UniAR, we are very pleased to see Edirne became 2nd. These results reveal that Trakya University is one of the most preferred and most prestigious universities for international students, while Edirne is one of the most livable and peaceful cities. This proves to us how Trakya University's vision for the Balkans and the internationalization efforts continue step by step. Trakya University and Edirne, which are the home of science, technology, culture, art, sport and music in the Balkans, are also the true addresses of different cultures.
