Prof. Dr. Servet Altay, who was deemed worthy of the encouragement award in the health field for his outstanding and internationally recognized studies on inflammation in the field of cardiovascular diseases, new generation anticoalugants, and new cardiac risk factors, received the award from the hands of President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan.

President of Trakya University, Prof. Dr. Erhan Tabakoğlu organized a congratulatory ceremony for Prof. Dr. Servet Altay in recognition of this significant award, prior to the Board of Directors.

Congrating Prof. Dr. Servet Altay for the success he showed, Prof. Dr. Erhan Tabakoğlu, stated “While we were holding one of the biggest events in the region, the Trakya Career Fair, our dear professor has made us proud greatly by being deemed worthy of the encouragement award in the TÜBİTAK and TÜBA Science Award Ceremony at 27 December. We wanted to celebrate this immense success before the Board of Directors. Our dear professor, is the head of our Cardiology Department, and also is the editor of Balkan Medical Journey Magazine. He does every work he gets his hands on amazingly. And this meaningful award serves as the proof of his hard work. This success of Mr. Servet is the best depiction of the nurturing educational environment and an atmosphere of love and respect here. Our university is the home of many successful professors like Mr. Servet. We are working the hardest way possible to bring our university to even further with our professors. Previously, Dr. Süheyla Yenidünya Gürgen, Assistant Prof. in Trakya University Faculty of Literature, Department of History, was honored with an award by TÜBİTAK and TÜBA in 2019. And today, our dear professor Servet Altay made us experience this great honour once again. We thank immensely to Prof. Dr. Servet Altay for glorifying the name of Trakya University and making us proud.”

Head of the Cardiology Department in Trakya University, Prof. Dr. Servet Altay pointed out that he’s been in Trakya University since 2015 and stated “I’ve always wanted to become an academician ever since I was a child. And Trakya University opened this door wide for me. At the start of this year, when our president draped the professorial gown on me, I uttered a few words. I owe all my academical titles to Trakya University, so I promised that I would try my hardest to bring this school to bigger heights. Firstly, I became the editor of Balkan Medical Journey Magazine. Up till now, I’ve had 150 articles of mine that got accepted and published. I did most of these articles in Trakya University, which is my home. I applied for this important award in this year and in the end, I was deemed worthy of the award. When we consider the award in terms of its content, it is particularly valuable due to being the 100th-anniversary award. Secondly, you don’t get this award solely based on an article. It’s an award that you get after your entire academical works get evaluated. I received this award after my scientific activities, service works, and over 4.000 citations were evaluated. Throughout the work we’ve done so far, our deans and our president were always by our side, supporting us. And I thank them immensely for that.”
