Trakya University Faculty of Theology, where the construction of the new buildings were finished in 2017-2018 Academic Year Spring Half-Year, was opened to service with a ceremony by the Speaker of the Grand National Assembly, Prof. Dr. Mustafa Şentop. After the inauguration ceremony, he visited the Faculty of Theology and made observations. He also met and talked to the academic staff of the faculty.

After visiting the Faculty of Theology of Trakya University, the Speaker of the Grand National Assembly, Prof. Dr. Mustafa Şentop said “Although it is one of the youngest faculties of Trakya University, in a short period of time it will brought important values to the scientific and social life of Edirne and the Balkans”.

Prof. Dr. Mustafa Şentop was informed of "Islam in the Balkans and the Supreme Islamic Educational Workshop", which will be hosted by Trakya University and held on 16-17 May 2019 and "International Balkans and Islam Symposium" which will be held on 3-5 October 2019.

Prof. Dr. Mustafa Şentop was presented as a gift from the Faculty of Theology “International Rumeli Journal of Islamic Studies” published by Trakya University. In addition, the Dean and the General Secretary of the Faculty of Theology, Prof. Dr. Cevdet Kılıç gave Prof. Dr. Mustafa Şentop his books “Felsefe Diyarından Hikmet Yurduna Bilgelik Hikâyeleri” and “Onu Böyle Sevdiler”, the latter of which is on the love for the Prophet.
