The “Edirne Illustrations Workshop and Postcard Exhibition”, where talented and young artists reinterpret Edirne, which resembles an open-air museum. Rich examples of Ottoman architecture and life were moved to the Balkan Congress Centre to be exhibited. The exhibited projects have been implemented by Trakya University Faculty of Fine Arts in cooperation with Mimar Sinan Fine Arts University. The works on symbolic values of Edirne such as Selimiye Mosque, Meric Bridge, Sultan II. Bayezid Complex, Edirne Palace and the historical Train Station Building will be shown in Trakya University Balkan Congress Centre to the art and culture enthusiasts. The exhibition, to be remembered as a work of young artists living and studying in Edirne, was opened at the Balkan Congress Centre Foyer within the Balkan Campus.
Edirne, known for its unique beauties embroidered for the works of artisans and craftsmen, gave inspiration to literati and travellers for centuries. The postcard exhibition by the students from the Faculty of Fine Arts will be open to the visits of local and foreign travellers.
Dean of the Faculty of Fine Arts from Trakya University Prof. Melihat Tüzün, Deputy Dean Lecturer Ercan Yılmaz, Project Coordinator Res. Ass. Zehra Atabey, from Keşan Yusuf Çapraz School of Applied Sciences Lecturer Özgür Özdemir, Assistant Manager of Continuing Education Center Lecturer Burak İşçimen, Res. Ass. Konur Koldaş, Res. Ass. Koral İlhan; Academic Advisor of the Illustration Club of Mimar Sinan Fine Arts University Lecturer Başak Ürkmez, Res. Ass. Gülce Nur Ertopuz and Illustration Club President Ece Haskan Uluçay were guided, while 30 students took part in workshops and design studies.
