The 13th Anatomy Winter Days, organized in collaboration with the Trakya University Faculty of Medicine Department of Anatomy and the Turkish Society of Anatomy and Clinical Anatomy, began with an opening program held at the Balkan Congress Center Senate Hall.
The event, where current issues of anatomical science are addressed on a scientific basis, was dedicated to the cherished memory of the late Prof. Dr. Recep Mesut. Within the scope of the program, whose main theme was determined as "Anatomy Education, Terminology," current challenges encountered in anatomy education, innovative teaching approaches, and topics aimed at ensuring terminological unity were evaluated by expert academics.
The opening speeches of the event were delivered by Prof. Dr. Oğuz Taşkınalp, Prof. Dr. Ayhan Cömert, and Prof. Dr. Alaattin Elhan. During the opening, which included information about the late Prof. Dr. Recep Mesut, the scientific importance of the Anatomy Winter Days was emphasized, and it was stated that the meetings would continue to be held in different cities and that the congress would be sustained and enriched.
Special presentations were also held in memory of the late Prof. Dr. Recep Mesut as part of the event. Prof. Dr. Bülent Sabri Cığalı delivered a presentation titled "The Life of Recep Mesut," while Assoc. Prof. Dr. Altan Mesut gave a presentation titled "My Father."
Within the scientific program, invited speaker sessions were organized following the "Memories Panel." In this context, presentations titled "The Past and Present of Anatomy Terminology" by Prof. Dr. Salih Murat Akkın and "Anatomy Publishing" by Prof. Dr. Mehmet Yıldırım were conducted. Subsequently, Prof. Dr. Figen Gökmen shared her presentation on "Three-Dimensional Software Technology Support in Creating Personalized Treatment Algorithms" with the participants. Prof. Dr. Fatma Güler Kahraman Yıldırım provided information on measurement and evaluation processes with her presentation titled "Written Exams and Question Preparation Techniques."
The three-day program will continue with oral presentations, as well as tours of Edirne and abroad.
